We hear this every fall. Over and over again, from parents.

As schools open, students are rushed to tutoring places when they are unable to catch up in class or struggle with a gap in understanding. The cure is to prevent this by preparing in advance. And summer is the perfect time. We look back the previous course with each student in summer and understand the areas of struggle. In fact we ask the student to bring their completed course binder during our summer orientation session which is an individual meeting on enrollment. With an opportunity to learn without fear of grades and plenty of practice the students improve their understanding and be able to learn new topics in advance before school. If a concept was not understood in the current school year we guarentee you this will come back in the next years mathematics course. Math learning is cumulative learing, you dont want to skip a topic or skill. If a concept was not understood well in the school year you must make an effert to learn it well in the summer. The foundation must be strong for continued success.
